We sat down with one of our favorite GGR community pinups, Miss Cindy B., to hear her unique perspective on pinup!
GGR asks: "Meeting new to the scene pinups is always so exciting! 😍 Tell us what attracted you most to the fashion."
Cindy said: "It took me years to develop anything approaching a 'personal style.' I look back at things I wore 20 years ago and cringe. In my 30s, I finally started really thinking about what I love to wear and feel good in. First, I threw out everything that was earth-toned. I just wasn't for me. Then, I started paying more attention to what I liked on other people and what I felt confident in. I dabbled in some vintage looks, especially at my wedding 8 years ago.
When I was introduced to GGR, it was a perfect fit! Having Feliz to answer questions and reassure me about specifics helped make me comfortable with ordering online and trying some bolder looks. Now, I'm known for my vintage dresses and a coworker recently told me, "You always look so classy," which is not an adjective I ever thought would apply to me!
So, the moral of the story is, find what you love and feel confident in and then go for it!
GGR asks: "Do you have any accessorizing advice to share with a fellow pinup?" Cindy said: On accessorizing... what I've learned in my "other" life as a Pirate, shoes and belts make an outfit! I'm not a "shoe person" but I have one white and one red pair of vintage-look heels that really help make my outfits.
Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your tips, Cindy! |
