It's finally Spring!!

We've been itching for these warmer temperatures so we can start wearing all of our favorite sundresses again, including our own Gingham line! We caught up with one of favorite pinups Sarah Mags for a quick Q & A! Here's what she had to say!

GGR asks:

" What is the most important advice you could give to gals posing for the camera?"

She says:

"The most important advice I could give to someone posing for the camera is to have fun with it and not take yourself too seriously. Smile, laugh, have a good time! Obviously, there are opportunities for those smoking, smoldering expressions, but if you look at the photos from the 40s and 50s, most of these gals were smiling confidently and having FUN!

Laughing while the camera is clicking can literally capture some of the best smiles you have to offer, so think of something funny and have a blast!"

How Moonshine Created Hot Rods

Hot Rod Culture got its roots in the heavily modified "moonshine cars" used during the U.S. Prohibition (and beyond) by bootleggers. Hauling the booze and outrunning the Feds required high-performance vehicles with innovatively engineered stealth features that wouldn't be out of place in a modern spy movie.

Discretion was the name of the game, so the cars kept the standard stock appearance from the outside. However, the internal workings of the moonshine cars would be completely redone with engine modifications, extra suspension supports to handle and disguise the weight of all that liquor, and hidden compartments or tanks to fit as much profit as possible into each run.

In 1934, John Dillinger, the notorious American gangster, wrote a letter to Henry Ford himself to thank him for the performance of his V-8 engine after using one during his multi-state escape from prison. The Ford Flathead V-8 engine introduced in 1932 was a favorite of criminals and law enforcement alike.
